GeoKids

GeoKids is an outdoor outreach program for elementary-aged students. It covers rock formation, soil organisms, and mineral identification in one afternoon on Stanford's campus.

Having worked and iterated on all of the stations over 5 years, early on I was asked to develop a new station to bring into the rotation in the future.

Carbon Cycle Station

I created a proposal for a Carbon Cycle station in Fall of 2017 that incorporates living and non-living things and their relationship to global climate change. Physically moving from station to station, as a part of the global carbon cycle, grounds this activity and helps young eyes see just how scientific and apolitical these processes can be. The proposal below outlines instructor notes for one of my fellow station leads.
